Description
Namobuddha is a small village that houses an ancient temple and the Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery, a sacred site for Buddhists worldwide. Located 43 km east of Kathmandu at an elevation of 1,750 meters in the Kavre district, Namobuddha is steeped in religious and historical significance.
Legend tells that Buddha sacrificed his body to save a starving tigress and her cubs, earning this site its revered status. Itinerary
Day 1: Drive to Dhulikhel and Hike to Namobuddha
- 7:00 AM: Drive from Kathmandu to Dhulikhel (1 hour)
- 8:00 AM: Start the hike from Dhulikhel to Namobuddha
